Fushu Daiko 30th Anniversary
Virtual Concert

Fushu Daiko 30th Anniversary
Virtual Concert

Fushu Daiko turns 30! This marks our 30th year of taiko drumming in South Florida. We only made it this long because of the tireless dedication of our people. Our success today is built off the work of past Fushu Daiko efforts. We feel appreciation for what we have and are optimistic about future possibilities.

This virtual concert performed by Fushu Daiko is an energetic representation of the beautiful spirited tradition of Taiko Drumming.
This concert is proudly presented by Broward County Cultural Division, The Japan Foundation and Pompano Beach Arts

Because of their love for the Japanese drums the Fushu Daiko was founded by Charles and Yoshiko Cane in September 1990. At that time there were only 2 members, now after 30 years, we now have many members from all different walks of life.

Over the years, Fushu Daiko members have connected deeply with people all around South Florida and brought a cultural bridging to the community that creates a sense of inclusiveness and generosity of spirit. Join us for this special 30th Anniversary Concert celebrating Fushu Daiko!

Fushu Daiko performs the art of Taiko, a musical art form that builds on an old tradition of Japanese drumming thousands of years in the making. Fushu Daiko’s music combines the traditional drums and rhythms of Japan with musical styles from around the world, such as jazz and rhythm and blues, to create an exciting, powerful cross-cultural experience that strives to cross boundaries and connect cultures.
